In this lab we will introduce the Red Hat 3scale API Management solution. This solution is composed of three elements: API Gateway, API Manager and API Consumer Portal, all of which allows you to expose, secure, control, manage, analyse and monetize APIs. We will go through hands-on exercises to show how to deploy and configure 3scale on-premise by installing it on an OpenShift PaaS cluster. We will then walk through typical API operations like different access control, rate limiting, application plans, API analytics, API documentation, and developer interaction. For extended API integration we will use JBoss Fuse for, e.g., protocol transformation or service aggregation.
Lab - Middleware / Mobile
OpenShift container platform eases the setup and use of modern CI/CD setups. This lab will guide you through the setup of Jenkins, Gitlab/Gogs, Nexus on OCP and helps you creating your development steps
Learn how to use the latest version of the Red Hat Application Migration Toolkit (RHAMT) including its Eclipse IDE integration and a brand new web UI.
This hands-on lab will help you to:
- understand the recommended approach to Java application modernizations and migrations
- interpret generated analysis results
- master the RHAMT command-line
- analyze WebSphere and WebLogic Java applications
- find cloud-readiness/containerization issues
- use the Eclipse plugin
- craft custom rules
Modern development using microservices architecture, containerized infrastructure and DevOps principles are much more effective than the legacy way to develop and maintain applications. In this hands on lab you will learn how to modernize an existing legacy application to a modern platform like WildFly Swarm on OpenShift Container Platform, and using modern development processes with pipeline development.

Red Hat recently released Fuse Integration Service (FIS) 2.0 for developing integration services on OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). This lab shows you how to setup your environment to develop against FIS on an OCP instance.
Having a PaaS with OpenShift which makes your app scaling automatically on demand has just one bottleneck: The database. It can't scale like the app could scale. Knowing that we need to find ways around that bottleneck. One way is to use JBoss DataGrid to cache requests to the database. In this lab we are developing an application which makes use of a database and add a layer of JDG nodes between the app and the database. Now we can scale up with requests on demand.
