HACKATHON @ FRANKFURT
Get creative & have fun with Mobile & OpenShift at the Partner Conference Hackathon!
Are you curious about creating apps using open source tools? Would you like to reach different markets or communicate more effectively with your customers via app? The Red Hat Hackathon will provide the infrastructure and developer tool sets to familiarize yourself with Red Hat OpenShift, Mobile (formerly Feed Henry) and JBoss developer tools to see if you can make these ideas a reality!
This year at EMEA Partner Conference we're moving beyond standard labs and allowing you to get creative with our technology. Let your creative mind flow and make your ideas a reality using OpenShift Container Platform and/or the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform in our 2017 EMEA Partner Conference Hackathon.
Beginning on the Sunday afternoon and finishing up on the Tuesday afternoon of the Partner Conference you'll get a chance to ideate and develop an innovative application using the most cutting edge platforms and tools available. We'll kick off with an introduction to the platforms on the Sunday and we'll also be there with you every step of the way to assist & support until the Tuesday afternoon, when everyone will get the chance to share with us what you've come up with.
In the lead up to the conference we’ll be sending you some instructional video “how tos” on getting your local development environment setup, so you can hit the ground running when you arrive.
The Partner Conference Hackathon is about participation, sharing, enjoying yourself and learning new skills the right way – by doing it yourself on a project you care about. So, come and join us, sign up today.
THE TECHNICAL SETUP - SOME PRE-WORK!
Red Hat Mobile
For those of you intending to build mobile applications, we have some getting started resources to help you get bootstrapped.
Most importantly is getting the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform CLI and supporting resources installed on your machine.
We've created a video to help you with this:
If you'd prefer to follow written instructions, full documentation is here.
OpenShift Container Platform
For those of you intending building applications on OpenShift Container Platform, you’ll need to install the CLI. To do this, first download the tar/zip for your system from here.
Extract the 'oc' binary file from the archive, and change your command line path to include this location, e.g. on linux, copy to /usr/bin
For those who wish to use JBoss tools during the Hackathon, here is more information.

Get started with Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio by following this link.
To download JBoss Developer Studio, you will need your Red Hat login, or you can simply create an account here to register!
Do you want to secure, monitor or manage APIs in your environment? Simply use the SaaS offering at 3scale!
